First Ultra Compact EF Standard Pancake Lens with merely 22.8mm thickness, which is as slim as a lens dust cap, and weights only 130g to give superb mobility for all types of snapshots. This pancake lens features 1 high-precision Glass-Molded (GMo) Aspherical lens element to achieve high image quality from the image center to periphery. Quiet and smooth continuous AF is supported in movie shooting and Live View shooting^*1 by a thorough optimization of the continuous AF mechanism with the adoption of newly developed Stepping Motor (STM). Together with 7-blade circular aperture design and the new micro-stepping drive used in the aperture control, quieter drive and beautiful bokeh can be expected for both photo and movie shooting.
